Sri.T.S.Vijayan along with his seniors of Gurupadam regularly conduct Sanskrit and tantric classes for school going students and other interested senior members from general Public. There will be around four senior students, in turn, staying at gurupadam to perform/learn to perform various pooja programs daily.
During weekend around 20 to 25 school/college students will join at gurupadam and classes will be conducted under ‘gurukula’ tradition for Sanskrit sasthram, Kavyam and Vyakaranam. They will also be learning Hindu Dharma, Teachings of Sree Narayana Guru, Methods of Upasana, principles of Bhagavat Geetha and various pooja programme. There is no discrimination as to caste, community, religion, sex or age for the students/senior persons participating in the classes/studies. In the case of school going students by the time they complete their school, the teaching provided here will make them capable of conducting ‘poojas’ for the general public (at homes and temples) independently which will enable them to earn funds required for their higher studies. Many of such students have completed Graduation, Post Graduation and some are undergoing research activities. We do have here two students obtained doctorate in tantra sastra. We also provide guidance to all members from the general public who are all wish to live in line with Hindu Dharma (righteous way of life), train seekers in the art of Pooja (method of worship) and Priesthood. We also conduct regular devotional gatherings or “Satsangs” and Vedic scripture study classes. We organize and conduct “Mathru Samithis” or Mother’s meetings in order to spread the nectar of Hindu culture to all people in the society during special occasions like Sree Narayanaguru Jayandhi, Guru poornima, Vijayadasami, Sivarathri, Deepavali, etc. We also do conduct programmes in research and teaching in life, works and philosophy of Sree Narayana Guru and activities to spread his teachings and messages to all. We do have a collection of sacred books from Veda, Upanishad, Purana for conducting reading sessions of such books and undertake their propagation and publication.
We do not collect any fees or donations from the students from the general public for providing the services to the students/general public. We also do not make any payment to the members of the organization for imparting training to the students/public. The teaching sessions/gatherings are made at the residential premises of the Managing Trustees/Acharyan, Food and Shelter is provided to all students/public attending the classes. Pooja materials, food materials like rice, grocery and vegetables are contributed by our well wishers. These materials are used during pooja classes and teaching sessions.
Thus ‘Grupadam’ stands as unique model for promoting and teaching Sanskrit, providing knowledge and impart training in tantric science to the younger generation of India. This will definitely stand in line with the education policy announced by the Honorable Prime Minister of India in imparting job related training to the young generation which will make every student to earn income for his living during education better income after completing his education.
